Your Attitude Makes All the Difference in Life

Dealing with Disappointment If you pour your time and creativity into something that goes nowhere, it's unrealistic to think you'll be able to shrug your shoulders and just forget about it if things go wrong. In fact, doing so seems like divorcing yourself from your true feelings.   Pretending you are not disappointed doesn't get you anywhere. Letting it out is the only way you'll be able to truly move on but limit that time of disappointment, move on and forget about it. Many of us would love to be able to control every aspect of our lives. But that's just not the way the world works. So much of life is beyond our control. What's always within our control, however, is how we react to any given situation. Acknowledge the things that you can't control. We can give our best effort and control our response and maybe, with any luck, you'll come to think in time that what was out of your control actually worked out for the best...

Attitude: Your Key To Success

Image
Our attitude is our key to success. It is easy to have a good attitude when everything is going well. During adversity, maintaining a positive attitude is more difficult, but it is vital that we do so. Zig Ziglar wrote, “The important and decisive factor in life is not what happens to us, but the attitude we take toward what happens.” * I have found this to be true. How we respond to situations around us contributes to our success or failure. That’s why some people come out of tests and trials unscarred, while others are destroyed by the same set of circumstances. The Apostle Paul encouraged us to “. . . be made new in the attitude of [our] minds” (Eph. 4:23 NIV). The Living Bible says, “Your attitudes and thoughts must all be constantly changing for the better.” The Amplified Bible translates verse 23 like this: “And be constantly renewed in the spirit of your mind [having a fresh mental and spiritual attitude].”This verse makes it clear that if we don’t have the right spi...

Attitude Your attitude, not your aptitude, will determine your altitude. In life, attitude is everything.  Attitude decides whether we greet the day with joy or with the blahs.  Attitude decides how our family, our friends, our boss and our coworkers perceive us. It is not the result of circumstance.  It is not genetically predetermined.  Attitude is in our control, we are in charge of our attitude.  Attitude is a choice we make all day, every day.  Attitude is not a habit though attitude can become habit. It was late afternoon on the first Sunday in December.  I was on my way home from one party with another still to go.  My throat was sore and I was tired.  Mentally, I was debating whether to go.  It would be so easy to slip into something cozy and veg.  Instead, I adjusted my attitude and reminded myself, head up, stand tall, smile, remember your three conversation...

Best Attitude Towards Life

We’ve all heard countless statements about the significant part our attitude plays in everyday life. The connection between attitude and success is undeniable. Yet changing our attitude can be one of the most difficult things we do. For the next few months, I will share some thoughts with you about attitude, and some practical ideas on how you can successfully implement a change in your attitude. Is Attitude All You Need? I am a motivational teacher; I’m not a motivational speaker. A motivational speaker makes you feel good, but then the next day you don’t know why. As a motivational teacher, I hope I make you feel good, but the next day you’ll also know why. One of the things motivational speakers say a lot, which I disagree with, is that attitude is everything. If you can believe it, you can achieve it, they say. What you set your mind to can become yours. I don’t think it works that way. I know a lot of good people who have a wonderful att...
